Morning all,
Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers that assisted at the horse trials yesterday and let them know that Area 2 were very grateful that they were allowed to join our event they very much appreciated all our efforts and send big thankyous to all.
The competition was a great success, very enjoyable although a long day.
Tom and Helen Bell were impressed with how the RC’s ran the competition.
Once the results have been tidied up I will forward these on, I am sure you can wait a day or so as I know Sue will be fed up of seeing a computer screen.
Do not forget the prelim entries for the summer show need to be sent to HQ this Friday. I will send the electronic format that I require by tomorrow night.
Thanks and cheers Richard.

Two subjects from HQ
1Subject: Pairs Dressage to Music
The 21 replies received have unanimously agreed that the pairs dressage to music class should be changed to a mixed class for juniors and seniors. Please can you pass on the following information to all clubs in your area;
Pairs dressage to music class, qualifiers and Championship, is now a mixed class for junior and senior members. The pair may consist of two junior riders, two senior riders or a junior and senior rider. This change comes into effect immediately. Please note this rule change does not apply to the pairs dressage class at the National Championships which will remain as a junior class and a senior class.
Pam and Donald, please can you let your clubs no before the imminent close of entries for your area qualifiers.
Best wishes
2 Subject: Re: Re: British Riding Clubs Spring 2012 ENews
Dear NEC
Please find attached our latest BRC Spring 2012 ENews, we are in the process of forwarding this to all the BRC members that we currently hold email addresses for, but with our change over to a new website service provider the distribution of these emails is taking slightly longer than we had anticipated to email out to in excess of 25,000 members. Therefore I was hoping that you might be able to circulate the ENews to all your Club Chairs and Secretaries for inclusion on their websites.
Thanks for your help in this matter.
Best regardsMasterBRCSpring2012ENews
Hi
Please find enclosed the attached mins from the last meeting, Area 4 Mins 30th jan 12 sorry they are a bit later than normal, but we have been very busy at this end.
I would also like to confirm that the Winter showjumping and the combined training qualifiers will both be held at Bishop on 25th March.
Please don’t worry that this is after the cut off date for the Winter champs at Hartpury, Head office have given clearance for us to do this.
the times may change a bit as we have more daylight in the late afternoon so the dressage can start later. I will be sending out the times soon.
There is also a jobs Rota Club Job Rota 2012
Please remember that the closing date for the Hunter trials at Frickly is Friday, Entry fee £50/team, clubs limited number of entry, please see mins.

Denise
P.S. Here is a copy of the Area 4 entry fees for 2012Copy of AREA 4 ENTRY FEES
The 2 attachments are the list of duties that need to be covered at all the shows and a proposed list of which clubs will be responsible for running which event.
Club Job Rota 2012
jobs at shows
This system has worked well at the winter dressage and the winter SJ and will be implemented this year.
As an example at the summer SJ show at REC Northallerton and Eldwick are shown as the clubs that will organise and run the show. That means they will between them organise the office, putting up and taking down of all the arenas, organise arena parties etc. etc.
Please read them, look at what you have to do and then start to liaise with the other clubs and organise yourselves. I propose that at the meeting on Monday (30th Jan) we all agree which of the clubs takes on the role of the Point of Contact.
Can you also look at the job list to see if I have missed anything off. It may well be that we do not have to do all the jobs but it is best to have then shown ad then cross them off in the 1st instance for example REC always do the car parking.
Once your club has done that event (except when XC is involved when you will have to send 2 FJ for the duration) you will not be required to do another job this year.
There are a minimum of 2 clubs for each event so that the workload is shared and I think I have accounted for every club in the area. As the 1DE is going to be a very long day I have shown 5 clubs with ARea 2 assisting, Darrowby please note that I have put you down to help at the 1DE I know you helped at the winter dressage and hope that with this experience you will be of great assistance at this event.
Before anyone moans and says that they have to travel or that their membership is down on last year or that they can not ask their members to be there all day or X..Y…Z… please look at what you have to provide. If there are clubs that want to do a mutual swop then let me know, if your cub has a valid and genuine reason as to why you can not do the event please let me know.
I know that this is short notice for you to discuss it with your clubs committee but it is time to take some responsibility for the organisation of our qualifiers.
I already know that Silsden can not make the meeting but if there are any others will you let me know.
As of Dec this year it will be compulsory to start paying £1 per horse plus the travelling for the dressage judges, rather than put the entry fees up we need to look at ways of saving money. About 18 months ago 2 clubs did some in depth research into getting our own radios but we never went any further. I will resurrect their reports, cost them up and bring it to the meeting on Mon where we will make a definite decision whether to purchase.
Area 4 managed to obtain the 5 places for the Steward Training weekend, apparently it was over subscribed causing HQ to ballot, therefore Mary, Jann, Margaret, Sharon and myself will be attend the training the weekend after the indoor S.J. so if you want us to raise any topics then please let us know on Monday. Training in hat tagging will be the hot topic and how we will do it before the qualifiers might need to be discussed I think that between the 5 of us we may need to come to your club shows where we can tag them prior to the qualifiers as I think this will have a knock on event with the RC insurance, i.e. if you are running a club event and an accident occurs was the rider wearing a hat that was suitable.
Thanks and cheers Richard.
